Wisconsin Author, Andrew Drasen, will be here to meet you and sign his books!
This is the record of a fight. A fight with addiction. A fight with the law. And a fight with himself.
Written behind bars and finished minutes before release, A Vision of Hope is Andrew Drasen’s unflinching account of nearly two decades lost to addiction and the justice system, and the stubborn hope that finally made change possible. It does not clean up the hard parts or hand you an easy arc. It shows the relapses, the losses, and the slow, daily work of rebuilding a life.
People in recovery see themselves in it. People who have never lived that story come away understanding it, because it puts a human face on a subject that usually gets judgment instead. That is why it has earned a Readers’ Favorite 5-star review, IndieReader Approved recognition, and a National Indie Excellence Awards Finalist spot in Addiction and Recovery, and why treatment centers and reentry programs use it to start conversations that statistics cannot.
Read it if you are fighting your own version of this, if you love someone who is, or if you have ever wondered whether redemption is still within reach. It is Volume 1 of a trilogy, with Reflections for deeper reflection and The Workbook for a structured 90-day practice. As the author reminds us, “Everyone has something to recover from.”
Andrew Drasen is an author, speaker, and recovery advocate based in Franklin, Wisconsin. He wrote A Vision of Hope during incarceration, then founded A Vision of Hope Media and created ReturnPath, an identity-based curriculum now used in recovery and reentry programs. He writes and speaks from lived experience, on addiction, incarceration, and the long work of rebuilding a life with purpose.
