From Street to Safe Haven - The Rescue of Troy is a true rescue story of a little street dog who met with a terrible accident and was left to die on the streets.S he was taken to an animal shelter, eventually the shelter became her place of joy and comfort.

This book reflects the importance of animal shelters in our communities. Parents who want their children to learn about animal rescue, animal shelters, and how children can be kind to animals, this book can be your ideal choice.The story is perfectly suited for kids who enjoy uplifting tales of kindness and empathy.

Zakia Rahman is a children’s book author dedicated to writing heartwarming stories that teach young readers about empathy and kindness for all non human beings.She is passionate about advocating for animals through  her writings in newspapers and journals.

She holds a Master of Science degree in Biotechnology,MBA in Human Resources and a PG diploma in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations and also has a certification in Veterinary Assistant.She is a former HR professional and had worked in the Sheboygan school district as a substitute teacher.She truly enjoyed working with the companion animals when she was employed with the Sheboygan Animal Hospital.

She lives in Sheboygan with her husband and two kids, Ayaz and Hope. When not spinning stories to inspire the next generation of animal advocates, Zakia can be found exploring the outdoors or spending time with her family.She adores gardening and singing.
